The resolution instructs county officials to take steps necessary to issue the bonds, including preparing official statements and submitting applications required by the Michigan Department of Treasury; it also provides that if the county must advance funds and a deficiency later occurs, the drainage board must levy assessments to reimburse the county pursuant to Act 40 of the Public Acts of Michigan, 1956, as amended.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about local flooding impacts and whether the project would address issues affecting a local hospital; staff replied that the work will help the described Marlet flooding problems though some additional issues may require separate engineering work. The resolution passed on a roll call vote with all commissioners voting in favor.
Next steps include administrative actions by county officials and continued coordination with the drainage board and Tuscola County as co‑participants in the intercounty district.
