Commissioners honor two long-serving county employees with retirement resolutions

The Sanlake County Board of Commissioners adopted resolutions Dec. 3 honoring two longtime public servants for decades of local service.
Commissioner Ehart presented a resolution recognizing a corrections deputy identified in the meeting record as "Genie" who, according to the resolution text read at the meeting, began work at the Sanlake County Sheriffs Office on April 12, 1998 and served roughly 26 and a half years. The resolution praised the deputys professionalism, mentorship of new staff and commitment to public safety; the board adopted the measure by roll call vote.
The board also adopted a resolution recognizing Allan (Alen) Inis for 36 years of service to Bridgehampton Township and the county, noting 20 years as treasurer, eight years as trustee and eight years on the township planning commission. The resolution was read, supported and carried by a unanimous roll-call vote; trustees from Bridgehampton were present and a plaque presentation was noted.
Both resolutions were described by commissioners as tokens of appreciation for long service and will be placed in the meeting record and presented to the honorees.
