The board approved payment of the MASB Annual Leadership Conference registration fee ($439) and hotel cost ($680.52) for Dave Carson for the Oct. 23–27 conference; the motion carried 6–0 (motion moved by Haug, supported by Pickering). The board also approved a registration fee ($389) and hotel cost ($510.39) for Laura Brunmeier for the same conference on a motion by Dave Carson supported by Haug; motion carried 6–0.
Reimbursements for conference-related mileage, meals and parking were approved: $266.70 to Laura Brunmeier (motion by Pickering, support by Loper) and $234.54 to Dave Carson (motion by Brunmeier, support by Haug); both motions carried 6–0. The board additionally approved payment of routine district bills, covering the General Fund ($72,167.98), Food Service ($24,190.73) and Special Revenue ($2,620.23).
The board accepted the resignation of Jessica Pleak as librarian and middle-school ELA teacher on a motion by Pickering, supported by Carson; motion carried 6–0. The minutes note interviews were held the same day to address the vacancy but do not record a hire.
