Boyne Falls reports strong start to school year, activity plans and staffing notes

School administrators told the Boyne Falls Public School Board on Sept. 16 that the new school year is off to a successful start and outlined upcoming activities and staffing notes.
The Student Success Advisor reported several field trips on the calendar, including college visits and science field trips for 4th and 5th graders. The minutes note LEO will host a planetarium visit for Boyne Falls and Char‑Em students; LEO’s Monster Bash is scheduled for Oct. 18 and Logger Night is planned for Nov. 9 at the Boat House in East Jordan with a Roaring ’20s theme.
In the principal’s report the board was thanked for new concession equipment donated by the Classes of 2023 and 2024. The school is holding its first PBIS events under the Logger Connect name, instituted staff “shout-outs,” and reported that JV volleyball dissolved this year due to low numbers. Middle school and varsity cross country were described as successful; Mr. Bolinger has started an elementary cross country club. The minutes also record that six students are co‑oping with St. Mary’s School for football and one student is co‑oping with Concord Academy for soccer.
The minutes name JMG specialist Danielle Corcoran as active with students and scheduling field trips, and note that Coach Bell spoke with players and will host Saturday open gyms for several weeks.
