Council introduces two ordinances, sets April 1 adoption and moves April meeting date

Ordinance 2026-2, introduced by Councilman Boudreaux, proposes changes to Appendix C of the municipal code to revise fines and penalties for traffic and misdemeanor violations within the city. Chief Shane Leger explained that Judicial College fees increased from $0.50 to $2.50 and that change is reflected in the ordinance’s fee schedule as recorded in the minutes. The council set both ordinances for adoption at its next regular meeting and formally changed the April meeting date from April 2 to Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 6 p.m.; the motion to change the meeting date was moved by Councilman Domingue, seconded by Councilman Boudreaux, and carried unanimously.
