Brandon and staff explained the preferred option provides a dedicated computer that will streamline uploading meeting recordings to the city’s YouTube channel.
"Option one is obviously significantly cheaper and it does also provide a computer which the other option does not," Brandon said in the discussion supporting that bid. Council members agreed the system should improve meeting audio and make recordings clearer for residents watching remotely.
A motion to purchase the pipe-PC system (option one) for $3,537 carried by voice vote.
Next steps: staff will order the equipment and schedule installation and testing so the system can be used for upcoming meetings.
