Lennar asks Beecher to relax brick requirement for Hunter's Chase East; trustees do not advance change

Lennar Homes representative Todd Klevin appeared at the Sept. 9 Village Board meeting to request relief from the planned-unit-development brick requirement for the Hunter's Chase East subdivision.
Klevin told trustees Lennar anticipates building about half of the subdivision's 43 lots within a year and described product pricing and sizes—homes averaging about $337,000 and topping out near $400,000, with floor plans roughly 1,800 to 2,400 square feet. He asked the village for flexibility on exterior brick percentages to support the product mix.
Trustees questioned the proposal and reviewed the renderings Lennar provided; President Meyer noted some renderings did not reflect the 25% brick minimum in the current ordinance. Trustee Gardner moved to approve proposed changes to the PUD to require a minimum of no less than 25% brick, but the motion failed for lack of a second, so the board took no action to change the PUD at the meeting.
The request remains unresolved; no vote on a formal ordinance or amendment occurred and no procedural next step was recorded in the minutes. If the developer wishes to pursue a formal amendment, the board would need a seconded motion and a subsequent vote at a future meeting.
