Administrator Charity Mitchell and Clerk Janett McCawley told trustees on Aug. 12 that staff are researching ordinances to regulate short-term rentals (Airbnb/VRBO) after a resident complaint about a neighboring property being rented. The matter was raised as new business; no ordinance was proposed or voted on at the meeting.
Staff also noted a need to clarify enforcement of a Planned Unit Development (P.U.D.) agreement for Hunter's Chase East that requires 60% of front-facing material be brick. Trustee discussion centered on determining the correct requirement in the P.U.D. agreement and how the village could enforce or clarify those standards.
The Board did not take formal action; staff will continue research and return with options for possible ordinance language or enforcement measures.
