Superintendent Dr. Bus presented updates on the district's partnership agreement with the state and the Strategic Plan. He said the partnership included an 18-month benchmark — scheduled for November — that sets milestones for the district to demonstrate progress. The superintendent acknowledged the Strategic Plan was developed through a public process and originally contained few measurable benchmarks, and he proposed working with the board to develop key performance indicators so the district can monitor progress monthly and demonstrate alignment with the District Improvement Plan.
Trustees asked for clarification about items in the partnership report that remained "not started" and requested a follow-up in the next meeting to explain delayed tasks. Secretary Triplet and others recommended a board retreat or focused session to produce measurable KPIs and to ensure the Strategic Plan is used as a working roadmap.
Dr. Bus said staff will prepare KPI drafts and the partnership-agreement notes will be included in the regular board meeting for fuller discussion. The board assigned a small AOT committee to work with the superintendent on finalizing goals and deliverables for formal consideration.
