Roseville Community Schools board approves $121,792 band purchase, hires staff and summer programs

The Roseville Community Schools Board of Education on March 16 approved a slate of personnel actions, summer-program staffing and several purchases, including $121,792.03 in band equipment funded with bond proceeds.
The board voted unanimously (6-0) to accept the personnel recommendations covering new hires, resignations, one termination and multiple coaching appointments and rescinded recommendations. The personnel package also included summer administrators and staffing for Credit Recovery at Roseville High School, KinderConnect at Green Elementary and Summer Discovery programs at Steenland Elementary and Roseville High; most summer assignments run July 7–Aug. 7 or July 13–Aug. 6, as listed in board materials.
Trustee Denise Brun moved to accept the personnel recommendations; Gina Aiuto seconded the motion. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with President Theresa Genest, Vice President Kevin Switanowski, Secretary Joseph D. DeFelice, Trustees Gina Aiuto, Denise Brun and Michelle Williams-Ward voting yes.
On procurement, the board approved two vendor purchases. Secretary Joseph D. DeFelice moved, supported by Trustee Brun, to buy band equipment from Washington Music Center under OMNIA bid R230804 for $121,792.03, to be paid from bond funds; the motion passed unanimously. Separately, Trustee Gina Aiuto moved, seconded by Vice President Switanowski, to purchase cabinetry for the Roseville High School concession stand from JRR Development LLC for $12,688.00 using general funds; that motion also passed 6-0.
The business office’s general fund warrant list for the month ending Feb. 28, 2026, was presented and approved after a motion from Trustee Michelle Williams-Ward and a second from Vice President Switanowski. The board’s minutes indicate the Business Office checked the bills and recommended payment.
The board also voted to adopt fundraiser bylaws for the 2025–26 school year. Motion and second were recorded in the minutes and the bylaw motion carried unanimously.
