Roseville board accepts personnel changes, approves policy readings and warrant list

The Roseville Community Schools Board of Education approved a package of personnel and routine administrative items at its Jan. 5 meeting.
On a motion by Kevin Switanowski, supported by Michelle Williams-Ward, the board accepted personnel recommendations that listed multiple hires, reclassifications, one resignation and one termination. New hires recorded in the minutes include Emery Grimes (Instructional Aide — GSRP, Green Elementary, effective Jan. 5, 2026), Bella Jones (Latchkey Aide, Kment Elementary, effective Dec. 15, 2025), Paul Tibitoski (Utility Custodian, multiple buildings, effective Jan. 5, 2026), Carolyn Vandermeulen (Interventionist, Green Elementary, Jan. 5, 2026) and Samantha White (Latchkey Aide, Dort Elementary, Jan. 5, 2026). Re-classifications included Leah Case from Special Education Aide at Green Elementary to Teacher — Special Education at Fountain Elementary, Cassandra Kowalik from Control Clerk to Attendance Clerk at Roseville Middle, and Jill Marshall from Attendance Clerk to Administrative Assistant Level 1 at Roseville Middle. The minutes record a resignation from Tanya Mackenzie (Cook, Roseville Middle) and a termination of Ashawnte Doyle (Special Education Aide, Steenland Elementary). The motion to accept personnel recommendations carried 7-0.
The board considered a student travel request for Roseville High School Model UN (Feb. 19–21, 2026) with faculty sponsor Robert (Liam) Willoughby; the minutes state the trip was cancelled and no board action was taken.
The board also approved policy- and regulation-related items: first reading approval of August 2025 policy updates recommended by Miller Johnson (motion by Matthew McCartney, supported by Michelle Williams-Ward) and approval of August 2025 administrative regulation updates (motion by McCartney, supported by Kevin Switanowski). The board later approved October 2025 policy updates (first reading) and October 2025 administrative regulation updates on unanimous votes. Finally, on a motion by Denise Brun, supported by Kevin Switanowski, the board approved the General Fund warrant list for the month ending Dec. 31, 2025; the Business Office had recommended payment.
All motions recorded in these agenda items passed by roll-call votes of 7-0. The minutes show routine administrative action and do not record substantive debate on the personnel or policy items. The board adjourned at 7:47 p.m.
