Rothbury council votes to donate obsolete police radios to Montague DPW

During its Sept. 16 meeting the Rothbury Village Council moved to dispose of surplus police equipment by donating old police radios to the City of Montague Department of Public Works. Police Chief Ethan Walker explained the radios are obsolete for village use but could be reprogrammed to support communication with emergency personnel at Montague DPW.
Councilmember Mike Harris moved to donate the radios; Jim Fekken seconded the motion. The council recorded a 4–0 vote in favor (President Vern Talmadge, Councilmembers Mike Harris, Jim Fekken and Troy Voorhees voting yes). No abstentions or opposing votes were recorded.
