Rothbury council receives clean audit, treasurer reports nearly 95% tax collection

President Vern Talmadge called the Rothbury Village Council meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. on Sept. 16 in Village Hall. Treasurer Deb Murphy told the council that just under 95% of village property taxes were collected this year.
Eric VanDop of accounting firm Brickley DeLong presented the village’s annual audit and reported the review was routine and contained no findings. VanDop described the audit as "normal" and did not raise any material concerns for council review.
The audit presentation followed the treasurer’s monthly report; council did not take formal action on the audit beyond accepting the report. The meeting record shows the village continues routine financial oversight and received the auditor’s assurance that no deficiencies were identified.
The council also approved payment of the village’s bills later in the meeting by a 4–0 vote.
