I'm just questioning the procedure because we don't do the procedure," the committee member said. Administration explained the summer library program has run for many years and that the school-level team typically prepares the request.
Administration provided financial details on the record: "The fund balance right now is about, 67, $67,700," and noted the fund had earned "a little over ... $4,000 in interest" to date. Trustees discussed options to task the school team to propose ongoing use of interest income and possibly form a committee to consider broader uses of trust funds. One board member suggested approving the modest, one-year request so planned summer services can proceed while the board works on clearer governance and reporting.
