Board approves consent calendar, records principal retirement and accepts donations

The Oregon School District School Board approved the consent calendar at its Nov. 11, 2024 meeting, voting 7-0 to accept a set of routine items including minutes, financials, personnel changes and donations.
The consent calendar included approval of minutes from Oct. 28, 2024; payments in the amount of $557,291.09; the treasurer’s report for the month ending Oct. 31, 2024; and staff resignations/retirements. The minutes record that Jim Pliner, OHS principal (1.0 FTE), submitted a retirement effective June 30, 2025. The board thanked Mr. Pliner for his years of service.
The board also accepted donations to support students in need: Karate America Oregon donated $1,020 designated for PVE students, and Brooklyn Methodist Church donated $451 for cold-weather needs.
Separately, the board voted unanimously to cancel the Nov. 25 and Dec. 23, 2024 board meetings. Dr. Mary Lokuta moved and Ms. Heather Garrison seconded the cancellation motion. The meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m., and minutes were signed by Clerk Ahna Bizjak.
