The Oregon School District Board voted unanimously on Oct. 28 to adopt the district's 2024–25 original budget and to approve a total tax levy of $43,626,855.
Mr. Andy Weiland presented the budget proposal. Dr. Mary Lokuta moved to approve the budget and Mr. Troy Pankratz seconded; a roll-call vote recorded seven yes votes and the motion passed 7–0. For the tax levy, Ms. Heather Garrison moved and Dr. Lokuta seconded; the levy motion also passed on a 7–0 roll call.
The board approved the Consent Calendar in a separate vote that included approval of minutes, payments totaling $1,795,254.89, and personnel and donation items. The minutes list a staff resignation: Amanda Amore, BKE 1.0 FTE special education teacher, with an effective date of Nov. 27, 2024. The Consent Calendar also recorded donations of $60 to the OHS Band Program from Laurie Sigmund and $173.79 from the Neighbors in Need of Assistance (NINA) Fund for student needs. The minutes record the consent vote as passed 6–0; the transcript does not specify why one member's vote was not recorded.
Board President Krista Flanagan and other board members present approved the actions during the meeting held at the OSD Innovation Center at Oregon High School. The board adjourned at 8:49 PM.
