Community events: junior-class auction and Empty Bowls dinner invited to board

During the hearing of delegations, community members invited the board and public to two upcoming school-related events. Nette Fanlison, who identified herself as a class adviser at Mesalonsky High School, invited the board to the junior-class auction on Saturday, March 21; the event features a taco dinner and tickets available at the door. "Saturday, March 21st ... it starts at 5," Fanlison said.
Sher Mather, a teacher from Oakland who said she teaches at the high school, represented the Empty Bowls Club and invited trustees to a community soup and dessert dinner on Feb. 27; attendees leave with a student-made bowl. Both events were described as longstanding community traditions and the board acknowledged the invitations. No board action was required.
