Rockwood council approves routine departmental requests, appoints Drema Reed and posts salary disclosures

The City of Rockwood’s council handled a series of routine departmental and administrative matters at its Jan. 21 meeting, approving equipment purchases, vehicle disposals, vendor payments, an asset-management plan and a budget amendment.
Among the items, the council approved: the December Police Department report and authorization to sell a 2015 Ford Explorer (M-006-26, M-007-26); a $1,100 AED purchase for the Community Center from AED Professionals (M-008-26); payment of $723.95 to Dundee Fire & Safety for annual fire-extinguisher inspection and CO2 extinguisher replacement (M-009-26); payment of $3,000 to Little Monster’s Tree Service for emergency tree removal at Lezotte Park (M-011-26); and authorization to sell a 2009 Ford F-250 with plow (M-012-26). The council also filed the Treasurer’s quarterly investment report (M-010-000) and approved the 2026–2028 Asset Management Plan (M-016-26) and a 2nd quarter budget amendment (M-018-26). Recorded votes on these routine items were unanimous unless noted in the minutes.
The council unanimously appointed Drema Reed to the Housing Commission (M-014-26). On transparency, the council approved a motion (M-021-26) to post the public disclosure of elected and appointed officials’ salaries on the municipal website or platforms such as govsalaries.com. The meeting adjourned at 8:12 p.m. following a unanimous adjournment motion (M-022-26).
