The Village of Stockbridge council met in a special session Dec. 10, 2025 and approved a series of administrative and personnel actions, including renewal of the municipal contract with Yeo & Yeo, a budget amendment and an 8% wage increase for police officers.
President Ogden called the meeting to order at 4:32 p.m. and the council conducted roll call with members Morehouse, Cattell, Howlett and Fairbotham present. Councilors approved the meeting agenda and moved through a sequence of motions that drew little debate.
Councilors voted down a proposal to amend Ordinance No. 2024-04-001.004 to allow a private sale of a village alley; the motion to remove section (1)(E) failed on a 2-3 roll call (ayes: Morehouse, Fairbotham; nays: Howlett, Cattell, Ogden).
On routine business, the council unanimously approved renewal of the Yeo & Yeo contract and adopted an Asset Capitalization & Useful Life Policy. The body also approved an amended General Appropriation Act (budget amendment).
On public-safety staffing, the council voted to make Officer Ezikiel Allen full-time, retroactive to Nov. 24, 2025, and authorized posting for a part-time police department position. The council also voted to decommission K9 Officer Mohawk and offer ownership to his handler, Officer Smith, for $1.00 contingent on a signed release.
The council accepted the resignation of council member Millisa Powers-Taylor and appointed Amanda Hahn to the Stockbridge DDA board effective Nov. 20, 2025. The body approved the 2026 Village Council meeting schedule and reappointed Cattell, Howlett and Ogden to the Village Police Committee.
The council approved renewal of MML insurance with a premium of $29,543. In a separate personnel/compensation action, the council approved an 8% wage increase for the police department, effective with the pay period beginning Dec. 14, 2025.
