Madison District Public Schools used the Dec. 2 board meeting to highlight students and staff who exemplified the district’s December core value, Courage.
Superintendent and school principals introduced students of the month at Madison High School, Wilkinson Middle School and Madison Elementary, singling out Jeremiah and Nehemiah Patman, Kenneth Vincent Jr. and student-athletes recognized for leadership. Coach Kyle praised the season and said the program is "on the up," highlighting seniors who contributed across positions.
Staff honors included Mr. Ketchum, recognized for revitalizing the high school art program, and Brena Potter, acknowledged for outstanding elementary art instruction. At the Madison Early Childhood Center, Mrs. Wi Hoy and two preschool students, Jenna Bassler and Emerson West, were celebrated for classroom leadership and growth.
Trustees and coaches offered brief remarks and applause during the presentations; the recognitions were followed by a short break and the administration report. The meeting emphasized community events tied to the district (a PTCO market and a food/clothing drive) and encouraged continued community support.
