The Hoosac Valley Regional School Committee appointed two members to a Regionalization Study Steering Committee and outlined the consultant selection process for a planned regionalization and shared-services study.
The committee appointed Cassandra Rochelo (Adams) and Jessica Chittenden (Cheshire) to the steering committee and voted unanimously to accept those appointments. The committee also authorized Erin Milne and Superintendent Aaron Dean to fill the final seat, prioritizing municipal representation, before the first meeting in early February.
Committee members reviewed the planned RFP process: phase one will collect data on enrollment, demographics, programming, funding and resources; consultants are expected to develop three to four potential governance, operational and financial models; and community and stakeholder engagement will be included in the study design. A preliminary RFP working group has completed its work and a steering committee will guide the next phase.
The motions were moved and approved without recorded opposition. Next steps include finalizing steering committee membership and issuing the RFP to begin consultant selection.
