At the Dec. 8 meeting the Hoosac Valley Regional School Committee presented the M.A.S.S. Superintendent’s Award to student Anna Thurston and congratulated her and her family on the recognition.
The committee approved the annual Grade 6 Nature’s Classroom trip to Charlton. The cost per student is $313, paid by families; fundraising and an ACE grant were identified as sources of financial assistance, and payment plans will be offered. The committee confirmed that alternative programming will be available for students who do not attend.
The committee reappointed current members to the DEIB Advisory with the addition of Erin Milne; the motion passed unanimously. Maintenance reported winter preparations are complete, snow removal and salting are contracted, building systems are functioning and roof replacement planning will await the MSBA application window next year; no roof project will be proposed in the upcoming budget cycle.
