Residents raise safety, service and notification concerns; staff and council respond

A resident asked for an update on the West Rolston Road project and raised speeding and a culvert concern; Director of Public Works Don Grice acknowledged the culvert comment and engaged briefly with the resident. Other public commenters said they were not receiving posted meeting schedules and requested an update on the Loose Advisory Committee. A separate commenter warned that a tree in the Loose Senior Center parking lot posed a safety concern and asked that the city address it.
Residents also raised operational complaints, including dissatisfaction with trash pickup service and questions about an invoice or issues involving a security/vendor company (Sonitrol). One commenter asked about the city’s handling of an event application and about donations connected to that event.
Kristyn Kanyak, City Clerk, explained the city’s meeting-posting methods. City Manager Ellen Glass provided an update on the Loose Advisory Committee, addressed the trash and Sonitrol concerns and said staff temporarily are holding donations related to the annual event. Don Grice and Glass said they would review the parking-lot tree and work with Police Chief Sutter on speeding and signage issues.
Council did not take formal action during public comment but recorded staff follow-ups and acknowledgments.
