Lincoln council approves EMT Lexi O'Dell for fire department; department reports runs, training and new equipment quote

The Lincoln Village Council on Aug. 4 approved EMT Lexi O'Dell to join the village Fire Department after a recommendation from Nate Walker during the department report. The motion to allow O'Dell to join was made by Member Potts, supported by Member Wambold, and carried.
Fire Department representative Nate Walker told the council the department handled 13 medical runs and three fires recently and completed a walkthrough of the new ACCOA building to familiarize crews with the layout. Walker suggested that local businesses consider installing Knox boxes to allow emergency entry when needed. The department will offer an EpiPen training class, and Mike Basner was introduced as the new training officer; ongoing monthly joint trainings with Harrisville FD were announced.
The council also recorded a donation of new lights for fire trucks from Gary Graves and reviewed a vendor quote from Abraham Fabrication of $1,246 to outfit trucks to secure the newly donated equipment. No purchase motion for the fabrication work was recorded in the minutes; the quote is on file for council consideration.
