During old-business cemetery updates on Nov. 3, the Grant Township Board heard that Sections A and B of the township cemetery are completed and that two trees will be placed in the new section this week. The minutes state a crew will return to repair areas of tracking damage and to complete stump grinding.
The board reviewed quotes for new cemetery signs, and members agreed a single-sided 6 x 8 entrance sign, along with rule signs, section signs and water-warning signs, was the preferred option. Laura Rodriguez moved to approve the purchase of the new single-sided 6 x 8 sign and the additional signage; Max Mellon seconded the motion and all board members voted in favor.
Clerk Gladys VeltKamp presented a copy of a rental agreement for review; the board agreed to discuss that draft further at the next meeting on Dec. 1. The minutes do not specify the vendor, the exact purchase price, or funding source for the sign purchase.
