Jason Fulton Re-elected Chair of Grant Township Zoning Board

Jason Fulton was re-elected chair of the Grant Township Zoning Board during the board’s Oct. 7, 2025 meeting, the board’s minutes show.
The board convened at 7:00 p.m. after Fulton was appointed temporary chair by the clerk. Member Mark Starr nominated Fulton for re-election; Member Laura Rodriguez moved to support the nomination and Member Mike Bouwkamp seconded. The motion passed unanimously and Fulton accepted the position for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.
The election concluded the meeting’s central agenda item: the annual officer election required by the board’s schedule. The board also approved the minutes of the Sept. 26, 2024 meeting on a motion from Rodriguez, seconded by Starr; the approval was unanimous.
Clerk Gladys VeltKamp presented a current contact list for the board to check for accuracy and described training courses the township purchased from MTA for use by all members. Board members said they were receptive to the courses and discussed completing them during the winter months at the Township Hall so they could learn the material together and discuss it as they do the training.
The meeting ended at 7:25 p.m. on a motion from Bouwkamp, seconded by Rodriguez, with all in favor.
