At its June 29 meeting, the Cary CCSD 26 Board of Education approved routine consent items and passed two separate motions: estimated reimbursement for a board member to attend the Illinois Association of School Boards annual conference, and authorization to buy a used small vehicle for the transportation department with a not‑to‑exceed price of $55,000.
The chair presented the consent agenda covering minutes, the treasurer's report, resignations and retirements, employment items, destruction of closed‑meeting audio, disposal of assets, placing the tentative FY27 budget on public display, the consolidated district plan and administration carryover vacation days. Mrs. Darling moved the consent agenda and Miss Sandlin seconded; roll call was unanimous and the motion carried.
Dr. Thomas explained the board policy requirement for prior approval when trustees seek reimbursement to attend out‑of‑district conferences. The board voted unanimously to authorize estimated reimbursement for attendance at the Illinois Association of School Boards joint annual conference in November.
Mr. Shepard described the transportation department's request to expand its small vehicle fleet to transport students to out‑of‑district placements; staff identified a vehicle and requested authorization not to exceed $55,000 to allow flexibility if the first deal changed. Trustees approved the purchase by unanimous roll call. Mr. Shepard said staff expect the final price to be closer to $38,000.
All votes on these items were taken by roll call and recorded as carried. No items were removed from the consent agenda and the meeting adjourned at 6:43 p.m.
