David Murphy of RLW presented an overview of his initiatives and documented site conditions in the Coral Sands area during the June 9 meeting. Murphy’s notes and photos were shared with committee members and he answered questions about observed flooding and infrastructure vulnerabilities.
Committee members discussed the feasibility of raising roads in Coral Sands to address repetitive flooding. The group did not adopt a course of action at this meeting but noted that the Technical Assistance grant could potentially be leveraged to scope or fund preliminary engineering for a road-raising project. Staff and the consultant will continue to evaluate options and return with more detailed cost and feasibility information.
