Silvia said spring sports—including baseball, softball and boys and girls lacrosse—will be live-streamed and that viewers may need to allow the stream to become available a few minutes before events start.
Silvia highlighted cooperative (co-op) teams used to preserve programs with low participation: boys hockey is co-hosted with Carver and Wareham, swimming is a coop with East Bridgewater and Apponequet (using YMCA pool time), wrestling co-ops with Old Colony Regional, and gymnastics includes Apponequet and Old Rochester students. He noted the boys hockey program won its league championship for the first time in program history this year.
He also described a pilot middle-school track-and-field program with more than 64 students and said the district is watching state-level changes to waiver rules that could affect middle-level participation at the high-school level.
Committee members praised streamlined social media and thanked coaches and maintenance staff for handling facility strain. The athletics update concluded with an offer to share presentation materials with the committee.
