Gadsden — The Gadsden City Council voted June 23 to adopt two resolutions finalizing construction accounting for the Gadsden Athletic Center site work and contracting electrical design for a senior wellness center.
Council members approved Change Order No. 1 for Bid No. 3610, a final reconciliation of pay items for the Athletic Center package 2 site-work contract. The change order reduces the contract by $266,220, leaving a remaining contract amount of $47,180 with Evergreen Site Works. The council approved the measure by voice vote after a motion and second.
The council also authorized an agreement with Egroup Incorporated for $10,500 to produce electrical plans and specifications necessary for lighting at the senior wellness center park and track. That resolution likewise passed on a voice vote.
Both items were presented as routine reconciliations and procurement steps to move construction and design work forward. The change order records adjustments ordered during construction; the electrical design contract will allow staff to proceed with bidding and installation of lighting as part of the senior wellness-center project.
The council approved both resolutions by voice vote; the clerk recorded the votes and announced the motions carried. No individual roll-call tallies were given on the record.
