D7 board approves student trip to Chicago after clarifying funding language

Later in the meeting the board rescinded the earlier language and replaced it with wording that the students are seeking a 'payment' of $150 per attendee, the total cost for 19 students is $2,850, and the monies will be derived from the general fund. The resubmitted motion was moved by Trustee Gator, supported by Trustee Winless, and carried by roll call.
Board members asked staff to be careful with language in agenda materials when distinguishing donations from district payments and to clarify fund sources in future reports.
