State Representative Alec Ranage attended the Crestwood School District board meeting to read a citation honoring Eric Idel Dinger for three decades of service on the school board and earlier public-safety work.
Ranage described the citation as “the highest honor we can bestow” from the House of Representatives and read a summary of Dinger’s service record, including his time as a Fairview Township police officer and with the county sheriff’s department, leadership on local emergency-service organizations, and the establishment of a memorial scholarship in Dinger’s name.
Board members said they will commission a plaque to be hung in the school and invited Dinger’s family to accept the citation at the meeting. The recognition acknowledged Dinger’s roles in school-construction oversight, stadium lighting projects and long-term contributions to the district.
