Cedar Springs Library director proposes downtown 'Story Walk' for summer reading

He said a prototype map exists via a QR code and suggested rotating featured books monthly or every six weeks; one librarian recently wrote a book tied to Red Flannel that could be featured.

Board members responded positively and suggested coordinating with city staff and volunteers for installation. The presenter proposed a target date of June 9 to align with summer reading. No formal vote was required; the board encouraged staff to assist with outreach and logistics. The proposal is expected to move forward with staff follow-up to compile business contact information and schedule installation assistance.
