Fruitport superintendent outlines informational campaign for Nov. 4 bond on ballot

Superintendent Jason J. Kennedy updated the Fruitport Community Schools Board of Education on July 21 about the district's informational campaign for a bond proposal that will appear on the Nov. 4 ballot.
Kennedy said the district is developing information boards for each school building, preparing a frequently asked questions document, producing a special edition mailer and updating the district website and other materials to inform voters about the ballot measure. He told the board these materials are intended to explain the proposal and schedule for voters.
The update was presented as part of the board's general business portion of the meeting; no vote on the bond measure or bond amount was taken at the session. Board members did not ask for additional formal actions at this meeting and the board set its next regular meeting for Aug. 18, when further procedural items and a second reading of related policies are scheduled.
The informational push precedes the Nov. 4 election, and district staff will continue preparing outreach materials in the weeks ahead.
