As part of its consent agenda on June 25, the Forest Lake Public School District board approved promotion of Katie Lorenz to director of teaching and learning. Director JP Jacobson introduced Lorenz, citing her coordination of professional learning, creation of district data dashboards and instructional leadership; Lorenz said she is excited to continue serving students and staff after nearly 20 years in the district.
The board also accepted donations and in-kind goods totaling $45,117 from booster clubs, foundations and community donors for athletics, band, transportation and classroom supports, and the chair moved that the gifts be accepted with gratitude. Donations listed included amounts from the Forest Lake Boys Hockey Booster Club, girls track boosters, Midco Foundation for outdoor rec, and multiple $500 gifts to marching band programs, among others.
The motion to accept the consent items and donations passed by voice vote.
