Athletic Director Mr. Nate told the board the districts winter sports season featured 30 All-Conference honorees and 14 conference champions, and highlighted the wrestling programs continued success, including district championships and repeated regional appearances.
Mr. Nate singled out individual achievements: four athletes qualified for state competition and one wrestler recorded his 100th career victory at the state finals. He also noted that three of four state qualifiers earned academic All-State honors, and he highlighted recent college signings by student-athletes.
Looking forward, Mr. Nate said the athletics department will emphasize mental toughness as a teachable skill this spring, using the formula "E + R = O" (event plus response equals outcome) as a coaching framework. "The event plus response equals the outcome," he told the board, arguing coaches will work with students on controllables and on recovery after mistakes.
In district operations, the superintendents office described continuing work with Huddle to deploy outdoor livestream cameras for baseball and softball and to adapt mounting and Wi-Fi for different field needs; soccer will require different mounting arrangements and may take longer. Administrators said the cameras and point-to-point Wi-Fi need to be specified and mounted to withstand field hazards, and they expect to have baseball and softball streaming before their first home events if technical work stays on schedule.
Board members thanked coaches and staff for athletic and academic successes and asked staff to return with implementation timelines for the camera system if procurement proceeds.
