Dowagiac Union School District honors Top 10 of Class of 2025

Kelly Milan, principal at Dowagiac Union High School, introduced the district’s Top 10 students for the Class of 2025 at the board meeting, describing them as “active, engaged learners” whose “accomplishments speak volumes about their character, drive, and desire to challenge themselves and each other.”
Milan said this year’s group includes seven students designated as valedictorians and reported a tight GPA range across the group from 3.92 to 4.00. She individually introduced each student, listing activities and honors that included National Honor Society, athletics, FFA, robotics and career-technical certifications.
Among the students introduced: Emerson Krueger, who plans to attend the University of Michigan; Emma Stanganger, who plans to attend Purdue University; Marcus Ainger, who plans to attend Western Michigan University; and Merryill Adams, who plans to attend Southwestern Michigan College and pursue an online program at Kansas State University for a bachelor’s in animal science. Other Top 10 students described their college and career plans, technical certifications and extracurricular accomplishments during the presentation.
The board paused for a short photo break to recognize the students and announced a Top 10 dinner scheduled for Sunday evening for students and their families. Milan closed the presentation by thanking parents, guardians and staff for supporting the students’ accomplishments.
