The project goals include improving parking and drop‑off circulation, separating playground and parking areas, and creating facilities intended for both school-year and summer community use. Planned features cited by the superintendent include an elementary‑sized basketball court, a soccer area, a baseball diamond, and an accessible playscape designed to allow wheelchair access and features for children with mobility needs.
Administration said it has been working with multiple playground vendors on design proposals and will conduct a final document "page‑turn" with the architect team before bids are issued. Trustees and public commenters later praised the accessibility focus and urged careful oversight of an already sizable capital program.
The superintendent asked the board to expect a building-and-site committee meeting to review bids and make a recommendation to the full board following the bid opening.
