Engadine board recognizes Techno Talons, hears instructional and sports updates

At its March 19 meeting the Engadine Consolidated Schools Board recognized the Techno Talons robotics team for a Rookie All-Star Award, heard instructional updates from Heather Luoto and sports updates from Mr. and Mrs. Franckowiak, and received two public comments about coaching and a combined athletic/transportation position.
The Engadine Consolidated Schools Board recognized Mrs. Dubay and the Techno Talons robotics team for receiving the Rookie All-Star Award and watched a robot demonstration during the March 19 meeting.
K–12 Administrator/Instructional Coach Heather Luoto reported on probationary teacher PLC meetings, completed observations, instructional coaching work, quiz bowl activity, music honors participation and upcoming dates including spring break and the end of the third quarter.
Mr. and Mrs. Franckowiak provided a sports update noting that basketball season had finished, track season had begun, the Three Lakes cooperative remains active, and golf season preparations are underway.
During Public Input two commenters spoke: one welcomed the hiring of an additional track coach and another asked whether the district could combine athletic and transportation director responsibilities after Deb Kerridge’s planned retirement. The minutes record the comments but do not show board direction or an immediate response to those suggestions.
