Dr. Gibbs said the district sought an experienced candidate to lead teaching, learning and leadership and described Dr. Tuggle's record in turnaround work and professional development. "Her experience in state level turnaround work, district administration, and leadership development fits the academic needs of our school system," Dr. Gibbs said when introducing the candidate.
Separately, the board voted to renew an educational services agreement with Eagles Nest Leadership Corporation after community comment and staff review. Board members and Dr. Gibbs emphasized accountability, school improvement planning and collaboration; the agreement passed on roll call.
Both actions were framed by members as part of broader efforts to strengthen district leadership and partner capacity ahead of the new school year.
