Administration representatives said the contract with Eagle's Nest (Eagle's Nest Leadership Corporation) is an annual, renewable agreement that explicitly allows the board yearly oversight; staff said they are increasing monitoring for the coming year: extracting Eagle's Nest student assessment data into the district Panorama dashboard, requiring a program-level improvement plan (distinct from a state school-improvement plan), and scheduling coaching and check-ins with the program’s leadership. Administration also noted that Eagle's Nest operates as a nonprofit facility partner rather than a district-operated school and that the program’s students are reported to the state under home-school assignments per PDE reporting rules. Staff committed to provide preliminary assessment results and contract documents to directors before further votes.
Directors asked that any grade expansion be made contingent on measurable improvements and suggested executive-session review of legal and contract options prior to the Monday vote. Administration said it had already requested additional documentation and planned heightened oversight and would bring back recommended contract language and monitoring checkpoints.
