At a special meeting on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, the East China School District Board of Education reviewed a summary of the district’s draft Strategic Plan 2025–2030 and heard an overview of the plan’s target statements and performance measures. President Michael Westrick opened the session at 4:00 p.m. in the Innovation Center Conference Room.
Superintendent Cybulla presented each target statement and the measures that will be used to track progress on district objectives, and board members asked questions during a follow-up discussion. Board members present included Karen Cedar, Lindsay Chopp, Jamie Haslem, Shawn Treadaway and President Michael Westrick; Jessica Becker and Ronald Miller were listed absent.
The board’s discussion touched on programming in the district Innovation Center and on SC4 dual-enrollment opportunities as components of the strategic plan’s postsecondary-readiness and career-preparation objectives. No formal vote was taken at the special meeting; Superintendent Cybulla said the Strategic Plan will be placed on the agenda for the board’s January regular meeting for final consideration and a vote.
The agenda’s public-comment portion produced no speakers. President Westrick adjourned the meeting at 5:24 p.m.
Next steps: the board is scheduled to consider and vote on the Strategic Plan at its January regular Board of Education meeting (date not specified in the transcript).
