Votes at a glance: Smart-meter agreement and election resolutions approved; town-hall scheduled

On Oct. 6 the Galesburg City Council unanimously approved a smart-meter agreement with Kalamazoo and two election-related resolutions; the council also scheduled an Oct. 27 town-hall on a rental ordinance.
At its Oct. 6 meeting the Galesburg City Council recorded the following formal actions:
1) City of Kalamazoo smart-meter agreement (motion by Anthony Tipken, seconded by Carol Wortinger). Roll-call vote: Chovanec, Wortinger, Hawes, Harnden, Tipken and Mayor Linda Marble voted "Aye." Motion carried unanimously. (SEG 028–032)
2) Resolution 20251006A: Appointment of election inspectors (motion by Glen Hawes, seconded by Ryan Harnden). Roll-call vote: Hawes, Harnden, Wortinger, Chovanec, Tipken and Marble voted "Aye." Motion carried unanimously. (SEG 046–052)
3) Resolution 20251006B: Establish receiving board (motion by Anthony Tipken, seconded by Ryan Harnden). Roll-call vote: Wortinger, Chovanec, Harnden, Hawes, Tipken and Marble voted "Aye." Motion carried unanimously. (SEG 053–059)
4) Town-hall on rental ordinance scheduled for Oct. 27 at 6:00 p.m. (motion by Anthony Tipken, seconded by Ryan Harnden). Motion carried on a voice vote. (SEG 039–043)
