The Dowagiac Union School District board approved its consent agenda, which included approval of minutes from recent meetings, payment of listed bills, acceptance of retirements and resignations, and approvals of FMLA leaves. Christina Carpenter moved to approve items A through F on the consent agenda; the motion was supported and carried.
Board members acknowledged Carol Primley’s long service and retirement and noted staffing adjustments to replace administrative roles. The board also accepted resignations from Jennifer Michaels and Zoe Michael; members said they and central office staff would evaluate next steps for the affected positions and staffing needs. Two FMLA leave requests (Gabrielle Cook and Sierra Cook) were approved as listed on the agenda.
No motions were amended during the consent vote and the board carried the motion without objection. Staff noted that central office administrators would follow up on transitions and fill vacancies as appropriate.
