River Ridge CDD accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman, opens recruitment for Seat 1

The River Ridge Community Development District Board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term expiring November 2026) at its Aug. 27 meeting.
Mrs. Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. On a motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly, the board voted to accept the resignation. Because this is an appointment to fill an unexpired term rather than an election, the board directed that Mr. Long and The Meadows’ Property Owners Association manager e-blast residents with information about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements, and instructions to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting.
The board discussed administrative steps for any future appointee, noting required ethics training and disclosure filing, a sample Form 1 and instructions, and Form 8B (memorandum of voting conflict). The administration of the oath of office and related materials were to be provided in a separate package and were deferred for a later meeting.
