FanDuel requested the commission’s approval and the commission convened an executive session under applicable statutory exemptions to review cybersecurity- and trade‑secret‑sensitive materials. After returning to public session, Commissioner Broer moved to approve FanDuel’s alternative KYC method; the motion carried unanimously.
The approval allows FanDuel to use the ID-scan/selfie workflow for initial identity authentication under the conditions discussed in executive session; staff recorded that the vote was taken after closed review of proprietary and security-sensitive materials.
