At its meeting the East Windsor Board of Education approved the 2025–26 school calendar as presented by the superintendent and approved an overnight, out-of-state field trip for high-school juniors/seniors (one-way bus logistics and final cost to be determined). The calendar vote followed a brief discussion about frequent half days for staff development and contractual day counts for teachers.
The field trip was described as Friday–Saturday travel for approximately 18 students; the board noted that some form details arrived late and central office procedures typically require lead time, but the trip was approved with standard cost and form caveats.
Earlier in the meeting the board also made a substantive facilities decision: it voted to keep fifth grade with the middle-school program on the new combined middle/high campus while directing staff to pursue architect programming and public outreach. That placement decision will guide subsequent design and budgeting work.
