Facilities staff report punch-list of about 40 items at recently completed referendum sites; contractor expected to begin fixes

Facilities staff updated the board on referendum and EIP projects, closeout activity and outstanding punch-list items.
Staff said final closeout documents have been sent to the county office and that final credit change orders are being developed for completed sites (site 181, site 172A). During a July 2 walkthrough at High School South and two other buildings, staff reported a list of approximately 40 significant items that remained incomplete or required warranty work. "We came up with a showing a list of 40 very significant things that were not completed and that have to be completed," the presenter said, and noted that Newport (the contractor) would begin addressing the items immediately, with a target turnaround of two to three weeks so work is complete before school opens.
Staff also briefed the board on current construction activity at sites still under work (sites 186A and 188), removal of solar panels at Intermediate South and ongoing east coping repairs at Site 202, and noted lead water testing is underway with vendor meetings scheduled. Staff reported routine compliance items—alternate-method laboratory documentation, right-to-know chemical inventory, and IPM compliance—were submitted and in good order.
Next steps: staff will track contractor progress, process final change orders and finalize closeout paperwork for the county office; board members asked for follow-up as items are completed.
