Sanford adopts Parks and Recreation Plan; board reviews pump-track concept

The Village of Sanford board unanimously adopted a Parks and Recreation Plan on Dec. 8 following a public hearing at which no members of the public spoke.
Council member Don Whaley moved to approve the plan with a correction to the spelling of Marcus Thrush’s name; Council member Carl Hamann seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Separately, the board reviewed a conceptual design and cost estimate for a proposed pump track delivered by American Ramp Company (ARC). Board members asked staff to compile materials needed to solicit construction bids, including specifications and drawings, and to fold any required funding steps into upcoming budget or grant applications.
The Parks and Recreation Plan adoption provides a framework for future projects, including the pump track and potential additional park plantings; no final construction timeline was set.
