Resolution 2026-3 amended Resolution 2024-7 and reduced the Village President’s compensation to $50 per meeting. That resolution also passed on a roll-call vote; the minutes record Shirey, Merritt, VanEtten, Stieg, Hula, Johnson and Helton as voting yes.
Separately, council discussed bond timing and whether to hire bond counsel now or after the May election. Stieg read through the bond documents and advised that timing depended on the issuing government; council voted not to retain Clark Hill as bond attorney (motion by VanEtten, supported by Johnson). The minutes record the motion as carried.
Council additionally authorized Chair Dan Hula to contact ChangeMakers to request a write-down of a bill; Stieg moved that authorization, Johnson supported it, and the motion carried. The minutes state that if ChangeMakers refuses the write-down, the identified party would pay the bill.
